Eight days before they bothered to look for her cell phone signal? What am I missing here?

Nickels is a shit. I heard him referred to the other night as "Baby Huey". It's fitting.

Next time you flip your car and are trapped upside down near the hiway, just try to keep breathing until the cops get tired of trying to beat the information out of your husband.

Maybe if they had used a taser on him he would have talked sooner.

The spouse characters are the thing I never get on Law and Order. If your relative is missing, why would you act beligerent when questioned. I figure most people would be fine with being questioned, as long as the cops were still looking elsewhere at the same time. It seems like that is what this guy did.

Meanwhile, in news from a sane country:

Federal budget surplus balloons to $14B

A booming Canadian economy generated such big tax revenues this past year that the federal budget surplus approached $14 billion, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said Thursday.

The surplus will be used to pay down the federal government's accumulated debt, which will have dropped to $467.3 billion as of March 31 of this year — its lowest level in 14 years [vs. nearly $9 TRILLION in the US]. Since 1996, the debt has been paid down by $95.6 billion.

I saw no "ownage" there; I saw a middling, unfocused use of an SMG and someone dumb enough to pick up a single spiker when the second one was right next to him. Boooooooring.

I was going to buy one of those Iphones today. Not kidding you. In the hope that there will be lots of cool 3rd party software available for it (like a real memo feature) but now, no way.
Apple sure is acting like MicroSoft: They don't get people want good products and that people don't care about Apple or MS's future roll-outs of shittier products.
Pox on both of their houses.

Sims needs to check with his wife and see what she wants him to do about the digusting animal shelters run by the county. Where's your conscience on that issue, Ron?

That Cheney bit sounds like an old "Simpsons" episode, wherein Homer is inducted into the ultra-secret Stonecutters' group...
