More Beautiful Than Ever

Thick? If so, what exactly is wrong with being thick like this:
ALeqM5h7zdWl1dr5lvy05E1SWhxFaj1dww.jpg For once, a famous woman who looks like a woman and not an elongated alien who is the negative of precisely those features that shape a woman—the curves, the hips, the universal tummy.

Wow. Something on which I agree with Mr. Mudede.

HOLY FUCK!

I completely agree with Charles. I'd better go lie down.

Question: Would you let your wife dress like that in a nightclub?

Posted by Horse | September 11, 2007 3:45 PM

Precisely! When I watched that trainwreck of a performance after the fact, the first thing I thought was that she actually looked pretty damn *good*. (Aside from the nasty ass extensions...)

But then, of course, she had to go and sleepwalk through a performance that may have been choreographed for a line dancing class at the Poughkeepsie Senior Center...

Yeah, I didn't understand the comments that her body was shot. I thought that was the only thing that was actually working for her.

Posted by Paulus | September 11, 2007 3:45 PM

Yeah, her body isn't shot at all. In fact ask any mother of two and they'd be happy to have her body.

Sadly Britney is being held to the standard of her former 18 year old naughty school-girl self.

No, Britney's body isn't the problem. Britney is the problem.

Agreed. The performance was wretched, the bod was hot.

I think she looks great, now if she'd spend some time working on her mental and emotional wellbeing...

If you're too thin, you're setting a bad example for the childruns and handing out eating disorders instead of candy on halloween.

But if we can't see your bones, you're just a fat whore on stage.

Personally, I'm glad Brit went for fat whore. She looks pretty damn good.

I think she looked amazing - curvy and womanly. Her lifestyle is not something that should be followed but her body should be an example of what really, sexy women look like

Heh. I was also pretty surprised that so many scoffed at her being "flabby", of all the many things to scoff at her for there. Certainly I can imagine no heterosexual male who would look at that and say "Fattie!".

Yes, let's talk about those curves. Let's keep it "real". But for God's sake, let's not talk about a nation's obsession with an utterly talentless, dumb as a rock white trash unfit mother. Because we don't want to get TOO real, now, do we?

From my comments on the original Britney post that went up Monday morning:

"I actually think Brit's paunch looks rather hot...She looks like an actual female and not some neurotic aerobicized fembot. I even sorta like the song. If she had just, you know, owned her body while onstage and not looked so scared/drugged/clumsy it might have been cool."

Posted by Matthew | September 11, 2007 4:16 PM

poetic justice... She has fallen victim to the unrealistic and unhealthy body image that she made so much money perpetuating all these years. Of course the lesson is probably lost on her.

Posted by longball | September 11, 2007 4:16 PM

but the talk's not gonna go away, so you might as well say something positive! Thanks Chaz! She looks great.

Hottay. She's still a train wreck but hey! Her body's The Muthaflippin.

Totally agree. She's not 'thick' at all. Such b.s.

But - a request...

Could you (plural = all humans over 4) please NEVER, EVER use the word 'tummy' again? Please?

I mean... for real.

I think that for many guys (including me) there are two different types of attractive female body - the one you like to look at in a bikini, and the one you like to get your hands on. And for me, Brit seems to have moved a bit from the former to the latter.

Posted by JMR | September 11, 2007 4:22 PM

I will give credit to her for being a mother of two. I am not a mother yet but I can see similarities between my body and Britney's. The difference is when I went to buy a new bikini this summer, and noticed I looked a little bloated. I enrolled in a gym and started watching what I eat. I find it hard to believe that a multimillionaire, especially one formerly known for her taut stomach, can't get a trainer. I'm a broke college student, I have an excuse.

She looks good, except when you see her move. Then she looks like 15 pounds of wattery jello and stuffed into too few clothes at that.

Sure she still looks ok, but she moves like a couch potatoe and is obviously gaining weight in an unhealthy way regardless of how much.

Also, she's a fantasy girl. Shouldn't we hold our fantasies to higher standards? There's no need to fantasize about the dumpy girl next door, she's right next door!

Cellulite is NOT attractive. Flabby untoned muscles are not attractive. The comments here just prove that a lot of men will have sex with anything. Even a flabby, ignorant redneck like Britney.

And for those who say that they know a lot of mothers who would be thrilled to look like this - I have a grown child, and I'd shoot myself if I looked as bad as Britney does now. She needs to lay off the Cheeto's and get her lazy butt in the gym.

I think that if Britney actually danced well, people wouldn't think twice about how "fat" she is. Personally, I found her body HOT (her face-not so much.)

I don't much care for ultra thin men or women.

Her body is fine, but considering she's Offically Grown Up(TM) and has 2 kids, she might want to retire the stripperella image. The smartest move she could have made would have been to classy up her image, sorta like Chiristina Aguilera.

The people who said she was fat are just a bunch of self-important eating-disorder enablers.

my 8 year old niece came up to me in june and said "guess what i was voted at school?" i'm thinking ... smartest, prettiest, most popular ... no ... she said "thinnest". the people who think britney is fat are contributing to eight year olds thinking they are fat .... and going on diets!!! i myself have no use for the woman ... hate her music, think she is seriously emotionally and chemically troubled but i in no way think she is fat. or thick or whatever the fuck you want to call it ..... what the fuck is wrong with half the world!! i myself look more like what the 'thick' version of what britney looks like ... i love what a lover once told me .... "no man wants to fuck a bicycle". charles, i'm blowing you kisses.

Please don't use Britney's "thickness" as a means of defending or feeling sorry for her. She gives thick girls everywhere a bad name.

I remember when Rush Limbaugh announced that he was losing his hearing, one commentator said "This is the worst thing that could have happened to the deaf community."

Posted by Jim Demetre | September 11, 2007 8:34 PM

A word or two about Britney's "thickness." I agree that it's a hot, realistic body but I couldn't help but think that she was still out of shape for a dancer. Dancing is athletic and to do it well you have to be in the right shape. Also, I agree with Schmader's first post in which he called it the worst outfit. There are lingerie which could make a girl with that body look very hot but that particular getup was not it.

Everyone is agreeing with Charles now, but in previous threads you were all silent (except maybe you, Matthew). Why didn't you defend Britney's womanly bod back before it was the "thing to do"?

I personally would appreciate a photo from before to compare, since I missed the entire Britney phenomenon (what can I say, my gf makes me happy).

All that said, one thing I'll say (and it's been said before, more or less) is that it is not just appearance that = sexy, it is the energy. Some non-hot woman can be hot just with a laugh or a turn of their head, or a little sexy squint of the eyes. There were a few instances in the MTV video where she actually does this and she looks good, but most of the time she looks limp and dead, so it doesn't matter how her body looks. I mean, when my girlfriend stumbles from bed to the bathroom in the morning, half asleep, sure I'm happy to see her, but she's not exactly exuding feminine charm or energy. Similarly, Britney looks better in the stills (like here) than in action the other night.

She looks good in the still picture, but when you watch the video... it's hard to get excited about her body when it's clear she isn't living in it. This explains the world of difference in replies to this post (still image) and the previous (the whole, awful performance).

I've seen a dancer who had probably 20 pounds on Britney, and who in a still image would look just okay, but who moved with such athleticism that it was almost hypnotic to watch her dance. That is the essential quality which Britney lacks, and which the video shows so well.

I'm with the other straight males on this board--Britney looks hot. Britney has never been a beautiful woman but she oozes with sex appeal. Always has.

I don't think she looks very good.

Why is it that your defense of 'thick' has to include a put-down of thin women as "elongated aliens"? Some of the models and actresses that you've posted on Slog arguably fall into the 'thin' category. Oh, I forgot that I was speaking to Charles, who will say anything to get more of that sweet, sweet attention.

After being annoyed, perplexed, and just pissed off at so many of Charles' bizarre opinions, I have to give him credit for this one. Britney does indeed have a body that most women would envy. The issue is that having made her onstage reputation by prancing around in a bikini like a teenager at the beach, she really needs to get a grown woman's outfit to match her new self.

Posted by J.R. | September 12, 2007 11:32 AM

If that's "out of shape" I only wish I were that "out of shape." While I've never been a fan of hers, and I think she's sadly lacking in class, I still think she LOOKS fantastic.

And those of you saying her dancing is shitty - when are y'all going to be on Pants Off Dance Off so we can make fun of YOUR fat ass and lame moves?

I feel sorry for the poor kid. She needs to take a couple years off from the whole celebrity-lifestyle bullshit and get her life together, then see if she has any kind of actual singing talent as an ADULT.

Damn few child stars are normal. Ever know any serious "theatre kids" especially those with really pushy stage parents? They're always completely psycho. Only the strongest of them manage to get it together enough to grow up remotely normal.
