They will write about him.

Thank god he was listening to nu-metal.

Good thing he wasn't on a fixie. That might have been dangerous.

What a weird deal. The bike wasn't streamlined, he wasn't streamlined, the cross sectional area wasn't minimized. Not a very serious effort.

Damn, Jerod beat me to it.

Never mind. It was the record for "series mountain bikes". Jesus, what a meaningless record. No wonder the rest of the hates us and our banal amusements.

Those crazy Austrians!! They should put snow-biking in the next James Bond movie.

who cares if the bike was streamlined... those pants were streamlined enough to make up for it.

Actually looks pretty fun, but keep in mind downhill skiers go faster than that:

On my fixie (6.3 gear meters at 42/14 on 700c25s) 210 kmph would mean 556 revolutions per minute or almost 10 revs per second. Not safe indeed. I think I'd blow out a knee.
I wonder, at that speed, is there really any point in having steering? Wouldn't a one piece frame work just as well and be less prone to failure?

Cool. The world needs more organ donors.

He made his own helmet out of Red Bull cans.

11: Without the steering function, I don't think you could get balanced enough to start moving forward on a bike. Once riding, steering is crucial in order to maintain balance.

But go ahead and make it so your bike can't steer, then ride down a hill. Have a friend record it so we can see the wipe out on YouTube.

@6:

The rest of the what? And it's not us that's doing this, it's the Austrians. Hate them and their delicious cakes.

Abby-

Rest of the *world*, sorry. And by "we" I mean the West.

Probably not the source of East-West emnity, I admit, but silly none the less. I wonder what the land speed record is for a non-motorized vehicle of any kind? Skier? Bicyclist? Luge?

I wonder, is there really any point in having a fixie? How about in calling it a fixie? You nerds.

About the helmet - even with a good ski helmet, hit a tree dead-on at 25mph and you can pretty much guarantee a broken neck.

Having said that, his wearing specialist equipment leads me to believe there's not a tree in sight...

He looks like a little Lego man.

You can tell he's not on a "fixie" because he doesn't get hit by a car at the end of the video.
