What a weird deal. The bike wasn't streamlined, he wasn't streamlined, the cross sectional area wasn't minimized. Not a very serious effort.

On my fixie (6.3 gear meters at 42/14 on 700c25s) 210 kmph would mean 556 revolutions per minute or almost 10 revs per second. Not safe indeed. I think I'd blow out a knee.
I wonder, at that speed, is there really any point in having steering? Wouldn't a one piece frame work just as well and be less prone to failure?

11: Without the steering function, I don't think you could get balanced enough to start moving forward on a bike. Once riding, steering is crucial in order to maintain balance.

But go ahead and make it so your bike can't steer, then ride down a hill. Have a friend record it so we can see the wipe out on YouTube.

Probably not the source of East-West emnity, I admit, but silly none the less. I wonder what the land speed record is for a non-motorized vehicle of any kind? Skier? Bicyclist? Luge?

About the helmet - even with a good ski helmet, hit a tree dead-on at 25mph and you can pretty much guarantee a broken neck.

Having said that, his wearing specialist equipment leads me to believe there's not a tree in sight...
