KEXP Rules!

posted by on June 8 at 17:03 PM

KEXP has just about finished one of their most successful fund drives ever—but there’s still time to donate by calling (206) 903-KEXP. By donating you can support one of, if not the best radio stations around, and for sure one of the leading tastemakers nationally in music right now. Aside from being a great station playing great music and supporting the local scene, KEXP has raised over $20,000 for organizations, about 16 of them so far, including WWOZ in New Orleans, Art with Heart (kids dance party), and others. They were also voted CMJ station of the year, and won a Plug Award for the same thing, all while having the highest ratings in their history. Go Seattle!

I heard KEXP had a website too, and that you could donate on it.

But I prefer KNHC ... even if I did help create the KEXP Tribe listing.

oh right...in my haste I forgot about one of the best things KEXP does, www.KEXP.org - you can donate there, listen to the live stream, archived shows, find out about upcoming events, etc. Good shit for sure.

Maybe they could shorten the pledge drive if John didn't get paid so freakin much.

KBCS is a MUCH better station. Give your money to them and NOT Paul Allen...

So Meinert, what'll be the financial effect on KEXP if the SoundExchange webcast fee hike goes through as planned? I'm glad to see you giving the station some love, as your earlier post would suggest that Clear Channel was the only radio option going.

KCMU was what RainyDawg is.

How long will it take before KEXP sheds the "Paul Allen owns it, don't support it" stigma? Paul helped it with the initial transformation, but funding ended after year three. You're not putting any money in his pocket by supporting the station during a fund drive.

Oh, and how is Rainy Dawg these days, Will?
