I think you're somewhere between crybaby and asshole on this (the "protest" and the Casey check) but I'm not exactly sure where. Probably closer to crybaby.

The only opinion that matters here is that of the PA voters and I guarantee they won't care about a demonstration way out here in liberal Washington. Sen. Santorum definitely won't care. Just a big waste of time in my opinion. You'd be better served selling more ITMFA gear to raise cash for more groups trying to unseat Rick.

CNN.com reports the frightening news that Santorum "has gained significant ground in the last two months on State Treasurer Robert Casey (D)." The latest poll apparently has 48% Casey; 42% Santorum; 5% crazy Republican-backed Green; and 5% undecided.

Josh-troll is a moron. I don't know if the Weiss couple is Jewish, but if they are, I'm disgusted that they would host a fundraiser for a politician who thinks they're going to hell.

And I enjoy the thought of a protest at any event having to do with the fecal one, even all the way out in Seattle. Will let the people giving him their money know what the town thinks of them too.

Israel is at peace and has brought peace and justice to a troubled region. Others are to blame for all the troubles in the Middle East (Spain and Germany). Israel didn't start the recent war, but showed the world that the Jewish people will respond with strength when Israel is attacked. The most oppressed people in the world are also the most peace loving and the most just.

It's common knowledge and not anti-semitic to state that Mercer Island Washington has a large, rich, conservative, Jewish population.

Last year while touring Mercer Island for the first time, my same-sex partner and I "found" a very nicely painted sign near M.I. Elementary School advertising its annual rodent festival.
Somehow that sign was in our car when we got home, and it's been waiting for just such an opportunity to be returned to Mercer Island.

The sign reads (in big bold red letters):

RAT SHOW HERE TODAY.

Certainly on Thursday, the sign should be firmly planted in the front lawn of Fred and Martha Weiss. No?

Speaking of assholes, the Green Party candidate in the PA senate race, Carl Romanelli, is polling at 5% (Quinnipiac poll, August 15). Casey's lead over Santorum has eroded to 48-42, with another 5% undecided, so the greens appear to be in position to fuck things up for the democrats once again.

So I'm politely asking Mr. Romanelli to go back to alpaca farming, or whatever the hell it is that he does.

Mercer Island is a liberal suburb of Seattle and one of the most ethnically diverse zip codes of our region. To say it is mostly Jewish and Conservative is anti-semitic.

So, did anyone protest this to this? I thought about it but went sailing instead.
