Thanks, but…

Posted by on July 12 at 12:40 PM

The puerile Nickels administration would not talk to Stranger news writer Erica C. Barnett for the comprehensive article she wrote last week on club regulations. Nickels reportedly even instructed city department employees not to talk to Barnett for her story.

However, upon returning from her vacation this morning, Barnett had a voice mail from a prominent city official who’s supposedly doing much of the heavy lifting on Nickels’s anti-club agenda. He/she said, and I quote: “Congratulations. I thought you did a great job on your reporting. I just wanted to tell you that.”

Barnett is going to continue to cover this important issue. Next time: Go on the record with your thoughts.

oh my god, I LOVE the puerile Nickels administration!

I think Erica's doing a great job.

I thought the article was really great. The JAT is a real big pain in the ass. When they come into Neumos, I like to tell all the customers that their wait will be a little longer because of the JAT taking up the time of my boss, who should be helping me(Frites is the food for the liquor being served at Neumos, so we get inspected most harshly). Don't blame the Frites!

They can't do that. That would take having guts and a spine.

Interesting, the Weekly has also come out against the JAT and GNA's.

The City's process and implementation is getting a lot of flack for good reason, it is being arbitrarily implemented. How about one standard for all businesses? Hopefully the negative press will prompt them to check themselves so the voters don't have to.
