Although given that women are now supposed to consider themselves “pre-pregnant” at all times anyway, the Jesus freaks will probably just take this as yet more proof: women, having your period kills babies!
This critique of the Rhythm Method relies on "facts." Looking to the "physical world" for "evidence" to support a particular set of views is antithetical to a purely faith-based approach to life. So unless this "Journal of Medical Ethics" is one of those books in the Catholic Bible that nobody else has heard about, I predict it will be heroically ignored by the true believers.

Just remember, men are always pre-pregnant (since we have sperm ready to go), so we should never drink, or engage in risky behaviors.
If pre-pregnant means you can enable conception, then we're just quivering masses of hormones just waiting to have children.
Don't encourage the pro-lifers. If they become convinced of this then, well, the obvious solution is to have ONLY procreative sex.
I know I'm dense, but it just dawned on me: isn't not fucking at every possible opportunity a form of birth control? Possible babies that don't happen? How can supposedly faithful Catholic married couples not be still having the huge families of yesteryear unless they are engaging in contreceptive non-fucking?
