In addition to a Portland benefit for Gossip front lady Beth Ditto in the next couple weeks, Neumo’s is holding a fundraiser for the insurance-less musician Monday August 1. Ditto had her gall bladder removed and needs help paying her hospital bills, and there’s a top notch couple acts playing in her support, from Pretty Girls to Tracy and the Plastics—a multi-media extravaganza who’s definitely awesome to witness and dance to live—and guests.

Neumo's issued the following statement about the event yesterday:

"This benefit that I'm emailing you all about is for Beth Ditto of the Gossip. She had her gall bladder removed, but she has no insurance. The good people at Kill Rock Stars have started putting together a series of benefits to help this musician out in her time of financial need. As you all know musicians (except a select few) can have a hard time paying the bills and holding a regular job with touring schedules, let alone, paying hospital bill's of this nature. The Gossip have always been very active in the all ages community in the north west, and have worked with integrity, and a very refreshing code of ethics."
