As another local note of interest, the companion CD to My Jim was recorded at Jack Straw as part of the 2004 Artist Support Program. We have a copy of the book here, too; perhaps I will dig into it this May!

Maybe they couldn't find a copy of that "big old boring book" in their library -- it is one of the most commonly banned books. Largely for the word that precedes "Jim" in Twain's book.

Well now that is just silly, flamingbanjo - of course the library has about three bazillion copies of Mark Twain's "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn," which would make a great 'companion read' to this year's selection, as would John Clinch's terrific recent novel "Finn," which takes up the story of that most unsympathetic of characters, Huck's pa.
