I Wish Sol LeWitt Had Been Alive to See This

posted by on October 1 at 10:37 AM

From a newly dug-up second-century housing complex in Italy.

Here’s the LeWitt wall drawing SAM owns (it used to be in the lobby).

Here’s images and a cool time-lapse video of the huge LeWitt wall-drawing retrospective currently being built at MASS MoCA (and opening in November).

And the second link takes me to a maquette of his, not a wall drawing, that SAM owns.

I think the ancient Roman frescoes that have been dug up over the last 200 years are absolutely amazing. Thanks for posting this; I might not have found it otherwise.

Classic style is so compelling. I know that finding colors presented problems, and still they painted such attractive frescos.

The link doesn't connect to anything remotely like those frescoes.
