People without cable: How are you people surviving this election without The Daily Show? HOW?!

I'm doing quite well without the hateful far left tripe of Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, or Bill Maher.

They're propaganda is dangerous in that it undermines the president in a time of war, and should be made illegal.

Liberalism is a social disease that must be destroyed forever, or you can kiss your freedom goodbye.

Posted by Lord Basil | October 4, 2008 2:11 AM

The internet, of course.

Posted by I Am Who Am | October 4, 2008 2:17 AM
4 has the Colbert Report as well. You have to wait till the next day to get Stewart or Colbert episodes, but they're free and with minimal advertising. Between that and netflix, who needs cable?

Lord Basil, you're cute. Wanna snuggle?

Posted by bearseatbeats | October 4, 2008 2:47 AM

Easy, we just log on, a day late doesn't hurt the Giggle point a bit!

Posted by Pinnate | October 4, 2008 3:56 AM

Daily Show? I'm trying to figure out how to survive with hardly even any internet. Yikes! I can only get to TPM once every few days.

viva Chavez??

Posted by The CHZA | October 4, 2008 7:20 AM

BIttorrent. Duh.

Posted by violet_dagrinder | October 4, 2008 7:29 AM

By watching it online, of course.

Posted by Dot | October 4, 2008 8:31 AM

Yes, via bittorrent.

Some nights I'm able to watch TDS/Colbert before it "airs" here locally.

Your post sounds like an ad for cable.

(Note: 2/3s of households in seattle have cable. Something like 8% get satellite tv.)

Posted by stinkbug | October 4, 2008 8:39 AM

Huzzah #2, except I'd change "made illegal" to 'laughed to scorn,' and I'd changed "destroyed forever" to 'relegated to a museum.' I think it's worthy of study by scholars.

Posted by Seajay | October 4, 2008 8:39 AM

God love ya', Slog, for pickin' out the best bits and sharin' them with the good folks at home who are doin' their part in this struggling economy by choosin' not to have cable. (Or, who are protesting the bizarre monopoly Broadstripe has on the CD.)

Where do I find bit torrents of Daily Show?

Also, it should be noted that Countdown with Keith Olbermann is also available as a free podcast in either video or audio.

Posted by Chris B | October 4, 2008 9:22 AM

@13, is what I use for bt tv, but any torrent aggregator -- being a huge one -- has the daily show. Like people above though, I just watch it directly at comedy central's site. No ads in their streaming version anyhow.

Posted by aaooga | October 4, 2008 9:58 AM

Keith Olbermann ... now there's a man with a Pulitzer in his future. *snort*

Posted by Seajay | October 4, 2008 10:26 AM

Olberman should be strung up for the way he has attacked our president and our troops in a time of war.

He is a traitor no worse than Hanoi Jane Fonda.

Liberalism must be outlawed before it lands America on the ash heap of history.

@2: "They're propaganda is dangerous in that it undermines the president in a time of war, and should be made illegal."

THEIR, for Chrissake, THEIR.

My PC crashed and burned last night, I freaked about missing my Hulu shows...then did a Restore this morning and it's all better now. Too bad cable doesn't have some kind of backup.

Posted by assusandme | October 4, 2008 10:57 AM

eradicate liberalism, and what are you left with? cronyism, theocracy and bread lines for the masses.

sounds great, sign me up!

Posted by mike | October 4, 2008 11:44 AM

burn motherfucker, burn!

Posted by pyro | October 4, 2008 12:46 PM

In Canada the Daily Show and Colbert are on the "air", on CTV, so no need for cable.

Posted by Sirkowski | October 4, 2008 12:59 PM

In Canada you can also watch them on

How sad is it that I watched the US Vice Presidencial debate instead of our own leaders debate (we have an election October 14th - it was called September 7th!)

Posted by DavidC | October 4, 2008 1:38 PM

20: These aren't very bright people.

Posted by Jay | October 4, 2008 2:12 PM

That's why Al Gore invented the internet. Duh.

Posted by snark | October 4, 2008 2:17 PM

Lord Basil:
methinks you are merely pretending to be an arrogant ill informed conservative...but in case you are:

Liberalism -- you could mean that practiced by WS Churchill? He wrote the unemployment insurance scheme for England. A horrible, horrible violatio of the free market! Of course at that time the market was letting workers starve and die all over the place.

Oh, look what his liberalism led, England is a country without elections or freedom, right?

So your theory of liberalism leading to loss of freedom is just so much horse shit.

OK say you mean today's ultra liberalism as practiced in Western and Northern Europe with their high levels of taxation and entire sectors like heatlh taken over by the govt.

Wow, they haven't had elections there for decades, right?

AGain, your premise that liberalism leads to loss of freedom is just so much horseshit. A provably wrong, stinking heap of smelly horse shit.

Have you no shame?

Or, are you an idiot?

Posted by PC | October 4, 2008 6:17 PM

Cable? What's that, Grandpa?

Posted by doctiloquus | October 5, 2008 1:01 AM

Like others, torrents. I just can't park my ass in front of a television anymore.

Posted by Gloria | October 5, 2008 2:08 PM

"Lord Basil" and "John Bailo" are the same person, right?
