All This Senseless Death

posted by on August 7 at 12:28 PM

Apparently, newspapers are dead because they’re not cultural currency.

Good thing we have blogs. Wait, apparently they’re dead, too.

Now everybody should get excited about Lifestreaming.

Thank God Tombstone image generators never go out of style.

i get the seattle times, due to a guy at Safeco Field promising me limited edition Ichiro Bobble Head. The newspaper sucks. The writers, although trained, really do a bad job representing journalism.

I used to sell tombstones, and those aren't going out of style anytime soon. It's not going to be called a "dead" business anytime soon.

Personally, I like Warren Ellis' take on lifestreaming:

The whole thing is pretty fascinating, but the summation is, esssentially, this:

"But what good is a lifestream that communicates nothing about what something means? Looking at the picture of the coffee can, and even linking the image to the coffee estate, tells you nothing about what that coffee means to me in the stream of my life.

Using the internet to push around basic information in new ways is fun. But it has no meaning without a human context. Itís just lists and bad photographs. Thatís not a life."

I was walking around a graveyard some time ago, and realized that the tomb stone's art is 1. incredibly tacky 2.resembles bad tattoos.

How is this cheesy clip art a symbol of the eternal? Mudede: Can you help me out here? :)

Sudden resurgance of the term BITCHESSS since the Paris Hilton video.

Just got my renewal notice for the Wall Street Journal, and since they've doubled the number of pages that I have to use for lining the bird feeder (Op-Ed), I'm canceling that and going back to the P-I.

Besides, I miss the comics. Only decent thing in the paper, really.
