News The Miracle of Birth

onShe denied she had given birth even as she was caught holding a white garbage bag with a crying newborn in it, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said today….Authorities say a man arrived home about 6:15 a.m. and found a blood trail that led from the living room to the kitchen. He heard a baby cry and asked Morant if she had given birth to a baby, the Sheriff’s Office said. She denied it.
As Morant stood in the doorway holding a garbage bag, the woman living in the home asked her again about giving birth. Morant responded that the baby was in the bag, and the woman took the closed bag from Morant and found the baby inside, authorities said.
The woman called police.
Thanks to Slog tipper Matt.
Florida.
Such an easy call.
See? The miracle of birth is no more sacred than the miracle of my mid-morning dump, only afterwards, I don't carry it around in a bag.
Gee, maybe this is one of those "mental health" situations...
I really hope she said "I don' know nothin' 'bout birthin' no babies."
But seriously, there's yet another reason to outlaw plastic bags.
What, kinaidos, you want these people to just drop their babies on the FLOOR?
Dan,
Speaking of miracles:

Our favorite runaway/car thief/plane stowaway/burglar Semaj Booker is in trouble again.
He's been arrested at least 3 times and is not yet 12 y/o. It will be a miracle if he makes it to 18 and graduates HS. Bloody sad.
These things wouldn't happen if we had the civic nerve to tax plastic bags.
the poor girl is an illegal immigrant, the poor baby is a garbage pail kid. the whole thing is a tragedy.
To anyone who feels compelled to force the miracle of birth and parenting down everyone's throats. The simple truth is that ... you don't GET to take care of anyone else until you take care of yourself. The satisfaction of being the provider doesn't come until you are able to acheive self dependency. This woman is obviously NOT capable of that.
To top it off, the rest of her life and the childs life are going to be in spent in self loathing and resentment that comes when parents and children simultaneously love and loathe each other at the most unhealthy extremes.
Fuck you pro-life America!
@6 God, I know, they should've done something after his latest attempt to flee in May. He's obviously smart, I hope the system doesn't toss him back to his mother again because it's obvious she can't handle him.
OR Matt where are you moving to?
"The New Colossus" by Emma Lazarus
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
@11 Did you mean to post that here or in the Alki Statue of Liberty thread? I mean it sorta works here in a sick way "the wretched refuse of your teeming shore."
Give me your tired, your poor, your babies in plastic bags...
@9 Coming to Seattle! Back to civilization (at least relative) Should be signing the lease tonight!
@12: The latter sense is the correct one.
@13 Well then, welcome back to "civilization!"
Thank you poptart! slight sarcastic overtones and all!
Thank you poptart! slight sarcastic overtones and all!
Again, the droning insecurities of a gay adoptive dad finds voice in a horrid anecdote from the internets. I guess it's like therapy except you get paid to vent.
