When T and I would walk the streets of Paris (not because we were poor! He was not known yet and we were not rich but he was not not unknown and so we had some money), we would often remark on the low quality of the art.

"I want to know this artist!" T would say, his cough foreshadowing the end, much as Nicole Kidman's in "Moulin Rouge" (which also, as it happens, is based in Paris, which is where we were).

"We cannot know the artist," I would say. "We can only know the artist's expressions, and perhaps his agent, and his gallerist. Publicists, not so much."

As I contemplate dinner tonight for my international art law consultant, I am cutting onions and the onions make me cry and so I must not come back to this thread. Until the onions are done, at least.

Some people have gonads large enough to post under their normal screen names.

Others are fuzzy, smelly used douchebags.

You, sir, happen to fall into the second category.

I hope you have a better life than the one you're having now.

G'day. And go piss up a rope.

Posted by Wolf | June 1, 2008 3:19 PM

Wow. @4, you're kind of an asshole there.

Posted by Fnarf | June 1, 2008 3:55 PM

Not sure what y'all are bickering about, but I think that drawing looks interesting. I want a closer look.

Posted by poltroon | June 1, 2008 4:38 PM

like it.

Posted by arty | June 1, 2008 5:19 PM

I think it's the worst drawing of all ever and ever.

Posted by Mr. Poe | June 1, 2008 5:25 PM

What we're bickering about is:

#1) My lover was a famous artist.
#2) The idiot posting isn't, therefore he feels free to be stoopid. (and BTW, good guess, ass, we did live in Paris for a while, and hated it)
#3) Assbag has been proven wrong in art law, and can't find any better defense than to try and disscredit those who know what they're talking about.

So some asshat comes along, claiming to speak for everyone else, being stupid. And apparently nobody else appreciates it either.

Asshole...bring it.

News from Dan Savage's glorious war on Iraq:

Mia Farrow's Nephew Dies in Iraq -- Uncle Pens Angry Letter to Editor of Vermont Paper. AN EXCERPT:

"Because of Bush's abusive stop-loss policy, Jason had been sent into an unwanted third tour of duty. He was a father of three and could not afford to lose his pension. Some 'volunteer Army'.

"During his three 15-month tours in Iraq, exposure to roadside bombs and other job-related injuries caused Jason to be hospitalized several times for concussion and internal bleeding and other injuries. Recently, Jason's condition was such that the Department of Defense flew him from Iraq to Dover Air Force Base for surgery. He was released from the hospital into the loving arms of the government who sent him directly back into Iraq. He was put on active duty while he was still on a liquid diet, unable to eat solid food because of a throat hemorrhage due to a botched surgery at a military hospital.

"After his second tour Jason returned home with severe mental and physical issues. He was certainly in no condition to be pressed into a third tour. He wanted out of the army. But Jason was a victim of the liar's back-door draft...

Because of George Bush, the arrogant, the corrupt, the liar, the war criminal, my nephew is dead and my sister and the rest of my family are devastated."

Get over yourself. Nobody here is or ever will be impressed by your boring life.

Posted by Mr. Poe | June 1, 2008 9:17 PM

Fuckity fuck fuck eat an asshole blow a dick of your choice look what Dan Savage, America's favorite cocksucker (can't join the ARMY) wrote back in October 2002:

In the meantime, invading and rebuilding Iraq will not only free the Iraqi people, it will also make the Saudis aware of the consequences they face if they continue to oppress their own people while exporting terrorism and terrorists. The War on Iraq will make it clear to our friends and enemies in the Middle East (and elsewhere) that we mean business: Free your people, reform your societies, liberalize, and democratize... or we're going to come over there, remove you from power, free your people, and reform your societies for ourselves.

ps Fnarf-don't you have a fucking life? Everytime I drop by here for a little danthewarmonger spamming to let his fans know what a deplorable war supporting asshole he is, you are in the thread. Somebody please! Invite Fnarf over for a blow job. Gomez? Mr Poe?

Posted by Fartin Gomez | June 1, 2008 9:47 PM

Funny. I don't remember asking you.

Posted by Wolf | June 2, 2008 4:58 AM

@14 - None of us asked for your insufferably tedious recollections of how you served as arm candy to someone of (I suspect) vastly more talent than you. So suck it up, Wolf bitch.

You remind me of Commander McBragg..."There! Warhol! Did I ever tell you about the time I ..."

God help us all. At least Poe is smart, funny and easy on the eye.

The only person you're hurting here is Amy Kate Horn.

For the record, I am another jameyb (jamey braden) and I love this drawing.

Posted by Jamey Braden | June 2, 2008 10:36 AM

@13 Wow, do you always just post the same post over and over again or is today just special?

As I said earlier today, Fartin, I think that blow job is fully up to you buddy.

Posted by Dead Reagan | June 2, 2008 11:19 AM

Poe and JTC: I like you guys, I really you care.

But can you agree that the "satire" or "parody" or whatever that some asshat posted is cruel?

Bury your best friend at age 40, and then come talk to me. We'll see how you feel. I'll bring the Kleenex.

Tell many times have I mentioned the art world as relates to my past? And how many times, comparatively, has JCT told us what a hottie Poe is? How many times, outside this very thread, have I ever mentioned Paris?

And Fnarf...thank you. I didn't expect that.

I'll let it go now. I'm sorry if we're going to have to agree to disagree, but it looks like that's where we are. Best of luck, guys.

Posted by Wolf | June 2, 2008 4:26 PM

JTC, even.

We regret the error.

Posted by Wolf | June 2, 2008 4:30 PM

I'm sorry you buried a friend at 40 (I was way ahead of you by the time I was 25...that small matter of AIDS, you know), but the fact is you're a tedious bore and invoking some initial and blagging on about how flippin' famous he was is just stupid.

And Poe is beyond hot. Get your facts straight, please.
