Books Books Are Totally Awesome

onThis online book dealer bought about a hundred books from a widow. After he brought the books home, he opened them up to find that quite a few of the books had been hollowed out and filled with pornographic Polaroids of the deceased husband with a bunch of different women.
Most of the commenters are asking…actually, demanding…that he upload the pics to Flickr.
Via Kottke.
Well, there's no such thing as a sucky Polaroid. (Unless it's all black.)
What? Only one anonymous commenter says to upload them to flickr, and he's certainly not "demanding" it. "Most"? What the fuck? The site wouldn't even allow it (some acts he describes are against their ToS).

Paul, I'm relying on you to bring me the full, florid blow-by-blow on this. You are my books editor, see, and if as my books editor you can't figure out how to spin this into a full-fledged feature with real-time updates, oh, my disappointment shall be so, so sore.
No, secret amateur porno Polaroids are awesome.
But I wouldn't know, dude, I work in publishing.
Forget posting them for free! He should sell them for exactly what he would have sold the books.
I found a similar stash of dirty polaroids when freecycling a dresser. it belonged to a formaer tenant of the freecycler, who had no idea one there was a false back behind the drawer full of polaroids.
I'm arranging to give the stash to someone with a scanner and a flickr acct....
Acts against their TOS? I don't believe it. I've seen everything imaginable on Flickr, usually performed by really ugly old people. But I can't recommend posting them; the pictures are his but the rights to them are not. One of those women could sue his ass off.
Funny... I read this, and the next day, I stumble across this weird thing about naked pictures. Different motives, in theory, but surely some of these scientists used these pics for ... prurient interests.
