2008 Tea Leaves

onClinton is canceling her morning show appearances. (Via Ben Smith.)
And Drudge is calling the race—not NC or IA, but the whole nomination fight—for Obama. (Via Sullivan.)
And Tim Russert says: “We now know who the Democratic nominee is going to be, and no one is going to dispute it.”
And make that all public Clinton appearances canceled. (Via TPM)
Are we supposed to ignore the rest of Slog past the "Here Comes Gary" post, or is IE screwing up on me (again)....
time to euthanize her on the track!
Rush and O Reilly will be so disappointed!

You just made my night!
Bet on the filly!
I hope he puts you on the Supreme Court, Hillary.
@1, Aren't we supposed to ignore the entirety of Slog - the part past "Here Comes Gary", the part before "Here Comes Gary", and "Here Comes Gary" itself? (no, ie isn't screwing up, Eli just forgot to close a tag after making an edit)
It's fixed, sorry. Tag is now closed. Hit refresh.
They better not call me to take her place on the Today Show.
If you were on the Today Show, Catalina, I'd watch it.
The Talking Points Memo is clarifying that Hillary has apparently canceled ALL of her personal appearance tomorrow, not just the talk show appearances.
the NBC news team must be so fucking happy; it's a great night for Olberman, Matthews, and Russert.
The question Senator Clinton needs to ask herself now is: "Do I want to be on the US Supreme Court or do I want to be Ambassador to Zimbabwe?"
Cause she ain't getting the VP nod, not after what she did.
"There's a lot of chocolate cities, around
We've got Newark, we've got Gary
Somebody told me we got L.A.
And we're working on Atlanta
But you're the capital, CC"
Hillary Clinton wins Indiana, and then drops out? I'll believe that when I see it.
On MSNBC, Russert said that Clinton didn't have any television scheduled for tomorrow; so technically she didn't cancel anything. It's a fine point, but it complicates the tea leaves.
@6 & @13; Why would McCain put Hillary on the Supreme Court?
why would anyone put hillary on the supreme court? shes so unqualified to be a competent justice that interprets law positively, not normatively.
I would be very surprised if she steps down. Her aides have made it clear that she will take this fight to the rules committee at the end of the month to try and get Michigan and Florida delegates seated.
I think it's pretty clear that if she succeeds in winning the nomination that way it will be the equivalent of a nuclear blast in the Democratic Party. Huge numbers of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents will simply stay home in the general election.
But I honestly don't believe Clinton cares. The best scenario for her is a Clinton win, the second best is a McCain win (because she could run again in four years) and the worst is an Obama win.
I always wondered why the right-wingers hated the Clintons so much and now I'm starting to understand a little bit of it.
@14
That's what I've been singing since reading Slog this morning, too.
