Obama Basher Gets Clobbered…

posted by on May 16 at 9:47 AM

…on live TV during last night’s Hardball. As Huffington Post’s Jason Linkins eloquently explains, “host Chris Matthews took up President Bush’s pointed attack on the Democrats in the Knesset, asking if Bush was ‘out of line.’ Radio talk-show host Kevin James didn’t think so, saying-and I’m paraphrasing-‘RRRRAAAAAHHHH! OBAMA BLAAAAHHHH! HAMAS LOVES BARACK, YAAAAHHHH!’”

Then Chris Matthews proceeds to beat Kevin James like that pinata full of shit that he is. Enjoy.

Kevin James needs to evolve

Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

I'm not watching Chris Matthews or Kevin James. I just can't. Not today. It's too nice of a day.

JFK talked with terrorist commies who put nukes in Cuba -- he "gave up" our missiles in Turkey.
Ronald Reagan ratified and carried out the deal we made with Iranian terrorists -- a deal we negotiated while they had our hostages - we got the hostages back thru diplomacy not war, and Iran lost a few billion bucks in the Bank of England that was confiscated -- Reagan also took marines out of Beirut "giving" terrorists what they wanted.

If u r not all powerful you strike the best deal you can .....sometimes you don't deal as in resisting nazis taking over england or usa....but sometimes you do's a foolish consistency to say you never deal with terrorists....

@1 - Exactly!

Kevin appears to be the product of a good christian education.

Please don't make me like Chris Matthews.

I saw this yesterday and it made me laugh. I love that by the end, Kevin James is reduced to just shouting, in that twerpy voice, "Hey Chris! Hey! Hey Chris!."

Posted by Gabriel | May 16, 2008 10:05 AM

Even Chris Matthews has a good day now and then.

Posted by tsm | May 16, 2008 10:06 AM

Hahaha, oh man.

@7, if it makes you feel any better, Chris Matthews lost all his cool points only a few minutes later by trying to assert that the USS Cole bombing happened on Bush's watch after James brought that up. So at least James knows his recent history better than Matthews does.

Also, Mark Green flubbed Obama's name in that same clip, calling him "Osama" by accident. Way to help out the cause, 'Air America' guy...

He looks/sounds like a Michael Showalter character.

its like he shorted a circuit and could only spout right wing we know what happens when they blow a fuse

Posted by Jiberish | May 16, 2008 10:17 AM

God, that was lovely. I never thought I'd respect Chris Matthews... (and I still don't...) but that was just divine.

Kevin James did an impressive job of not answering the question about Chamberlain. It takes a lot of douche to keep repeating the same non-answer like that and expect to win. I tip my hat to him, I could never do that (thank god).

So beautiful!

People like Kevin James are supported by a vast segment of our population because they know nothing about history either. Kevin James' listeners like him because he is loud and they pick-up on the talking tough cues about "strength" and power. How many of his listeners even know who Neville Chamberlain was? As long as he continues to have a direction for his rants he will continue to con the simple-minded.

Wouldn't it be fantastic if Chris Matthews received so much positive feedback that other journalists suddenly realized that they could get ratings if they actually did their jobs? Like real journalists and not just cheerleaders for the Bush administration?

I dare to dream.

I agree with #2 - that guy's on something. Probably coke. Look at his eyes.

no catalina, he's just a retard.

Wouldn't it be great if Presidential news conferences descended into that sort of hard ball confrontation? But - with the exception of Helen Thomas - the White House Press Corps is full of balless wonders. Actually Helen IS a balless wonder.

Must respect the Office of the President and therefore the Chief Moron and his minions will continue to get away with murder

Wasn't Neville Chamberlain Richard Chamberlain's gay father? Or Appeaser Porridge Hot?

Posted by RHETT ORACLE | May 16, 2008 1:22 PM

I thought Neville was the costermonger who said "There's peas for our thyme."

I have fought against liking Chris Matthews but the fight is over. I can't help it. Sorry. I know exactly what you all mean, believe me. But the good outweighs the bad and I think he means well even when he's trying to be cynical. It's ok. You can like him too. I'm still alive.

Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for that video.
It was more fulfilling than therapy.
