posted by on April 9 at 9:46 AM

How come only the hosts of comedy shows—even college comedy shows—have the nads to put tough questions to our scummy ruling elite? Karl Rove sits down with On Harvard Time. It’s required viewing…

Derek Flanzraich is hawt.

Posted by yumm | April 9, 2008 9:57 AM

how did we know that would be the first comment?

Posted by chops | April 9, 2008 10:12 AM

Sorry, did I miss something? What exactly were those "hard questions" posed to the ole' "turd-blossom"?

Posted by COMTE | April 9, 2008 10:14 AM

Rove really seems to get a kick out of being despised. I bet he's into S&M.

Posted by Sirkowski | April 9, 2008 10:27 AM

yeah, this was super tame. if anything, it made rove look likeable.

...uh, until he threatened to send the guy to gitmo at the end. that was creepy.

Posted by jake | April 9, 2008 10:34 AM

in the bush white house, everybody knows "Gitmo" is code-word for "we gonna have a big ole Nazi flavored orgy in five minutes."

Posted by superyeadon | April 9, 2008 10:49 AM

Not shown: them fucking like rabbits after the interview. I bet I know where "Derek Flanzraich" hung that lei next...

Posted by Jake | April 9, 2008 11:46 AM

Nothing hard hitting here, ho hum, what a bore.

Posted by Sargon Bighorn | April 9, 2008 1:07 PM

I only made it through about 45 seconds. Flanzraidch is a shmuck, and the mere sight of Carl Rove makes my blood boil.

Posted by Reverse Polarity | April 9, 2008 2:14 PM

Does stuff like this just generally make anyone else uncomfortable?

Posted by Ed | April 9, 2008 2:43 PM

The whole exercise was so sophomoric. This is what Harvard produces?

Posted by Frank | April 9, 2008 6:56 PM

Yeah, sorry. I think Karl Rove is an amoral troglodyte, but he ate that little mincing schoolboy's lunch.

Posted by GM | April 9, 2008 7:59 PM

That was really dumb.

Video no longer available...

That Rove has some PULL!

When someone says that you are Ann Coulter and Satans love child, Karl, he his not speaking to you. He is speaking to us and shaking his head in shared bewilderment. It is not always about you.

Posted by Billl | April 9, 2008 9:21 PM

Why are we giving him media time?

Seriously, his "visibility" appears to me to be nothing more than a contrived effort to "get him out there" so that it is harder to indict him later.

The guy refuses to sit for the people (there is at least one "declined" subpeona from Congress, right?), yet he gets to sit for Harvard?

It's just wrong.

In regard to the McCain 2000 election thing, Karl, it's really not whether you did it or not that's important. It's that it fits your character that's important. It is a Rovian thing to do. How does that set with you?

Posted by Bob | April 9, 2008 10:01 PM

What an embarassing spectacle. That Flanzraich was so far out of his depth. made me want to vote republican. Derek - do us all a favor and go away- you are a failure.

Posted by Dan | April 9, 2008 11:09 PM

Wow, so close to an ambush, and so wasted.

Posted by Dude | April 9, 2008 11:54 PM

No tough questions here. Flanzraich was a limp noodle.

Posted by Markus | April 10, 2008 1:21 AM

Tough questions? We don' need no steenkin' tough questions.

Posted by Rog | April 10, 2008 2:40 AM

Why is Rove so feared? He comes across as a poor liar and a rude idiot in this video.

Posted by AxelDC | April 10, 2008 3:05 AM

Tough questions?? Are you kidding?

Posted by bachelard | April 10, 2008 4:28 AM

Say what you want... Karl wasn't the goof in this interview. Rove is a man who is consistently "shrewd as a serpent, innocent as a dove" - which, by the way, is a high compliment.

Posted by Steve | April 10, 2008 5:46 AM

So- hahahaha. So now I'll be so sure to speak so even more dismissively of Harvard's so-called superior students. So, Derek, are you a Teddy or JFK Jr. scholar?
So extremely sad

Posted by dr kill | April 10, 2008 9:17 AM

The fact that Karl Rove can joke about sending this guy to Gitmo considering the horrible illegal treatment of detainees there is offensive and extremely disappointing.

Posted by Somerset | April 10, 2008 10:52 AM

Just looking over these comments ... it's funny how the world has gotten over snark. After 10 years of internet chat rooms, no one's impressed any more when some fat college kid waxes smarmy. Boring.
