Surprise! You’ve Got a New Anus!

posted by on March 20 at 15:53 PM

The Fox News headline says it all: Woman Goes for Leg Operation, Gets New Anus Instead.

(But the UK Sun’s is funnier.)

(Thank you, Slog tippers Jake and Patrick.)

A "new" anus? You mean they can transplant those these days?

Be sure to fill out your organ donor cards, everyone.

What a bummer. I guess some asshole is getting fired.

Two ani (plural for anus)....sounds like Fox found a new viewer.

The article is just as good as the title. Clearly, Staff Reporter should win a Pulitzer.

it's the first day of the rest of her life...

@5: Nice.

surgery is a bit of a misnomer, it's more of a ripping

Posted by mattro2.0 | March 20, 2008 5:07 PM

Damn, they really ripped her a new one.

#4, you rule.

I ain't buying it. There're not enough details given to confirm. And much as you might want to think otherwise, we who work or have worked in the operating rooms know the difference between an asshole and a leg.

Yeah but the incontinent patient can now kick a football 40 yards right through the goal posts.

#12, they didn't confuse body parts. Duh. They confused the patients.

In case you were wondering what the do with the old anuses, they are quite the delicacy.

Seriously, if you can avoid getting medical treatment in Germany, you should. Socialized medicine is all well and good, but Germany's education system, especially its university system, including its medical education system, is bottom-barrel bad.

Couldn't they see the old one was working just fine? Wouldn't a incontinent anus be visually obvious? How sad to wake up with such a pain in the ass for no reason...

And her leg is still bad!!!! I'd be so pissed I would kill a docter. or two. Maybe three just to make sure it doesn't happen again.
