Today’s Slog Obama vs. Clinton Moment

posted by on January 29 at 9:37 AM

Here’s hoping that at Thursday night’s debate in LA Obama and Clinton are asked to duke it out over this disagreement.

From The Hill’s report on President Bush’s State of the Union speech:

When Bush proclaimed, “Ladies and gentlemen, some may deny the surge is working, but among terrorists there is no doubt,” Clinton sprang to her feet in applause but Obama remained firmly seated. The president’s line divided most of the Democratic audience, with nearly half standing to applaud and the other half sitting in stony silence.

God, at this point in the Bush administration, why would any Dem (or self-respecting human) stand and applaud anything The Decider has to say? Pathetic.

Just what the world needed - more Clinton bashing. Would you please get a life?

I made this prediction before but let me mention it again. If Hillary is elected President she will attack Iran. Period.

She has a blood lust that is rather scary. Just look at her voting record.

What does that line even mean? "No doubt" what? No doubt it IS working, or no doubt it ISN'T?

Yeah, I'm with Doug. I have no idea what the hell this line means. I have a feeling terrorists don't doubt anything.

That quote is doubleplus good.

Oh, go suck on a Moloko.

She sprang to her feet? - stood up ok - but sprang?

I hated the way the Dems treated W with any respect - at most they should've just been there - no applause. The way they lined up to shake his hand infuriated me.

We don’t have enough troops to sustain the surge. Among the terrorists, there is no doubt.

Wow, vitriol from Fifty-Two-Eighty today:

@10 - i want Obama to win just to rub it in fifty-two-eighty's face!

Once again Obama did the right thing, while Clinton did the wrong thing.

That's why it's important, people.

Presidents don't get do-overs.

Unless the Federal Reserve tells here to, Clinton won't withdraw from Iraq until 2012, when she'll need us "lefties" to be re-elected.

The more things "change"...

HRC is a fucking lap dog. When will you people come to your senses! Blah blah experience blah blah seniority blah blah first lady. Ever heard of, you know, principle or positions? Obama FTW; he reacted exactly how I would have. Actually I would have stayed sitting for the whole thing, except the start and end when it's an institutional courtesy.

How will the insane hillary people justify this? This shit is inexcusable.

Posted by andrew | January 29, 2008 2:40 PM

the insane hillary people will justify this by saying that she has her eye on the general election by taking the oh so controversial position of "anti-terrorist".
