Buy Your Way onto Slog

posted by on December 7 at 17:04 PM

We’ve just added a bonus item to the Strangercrombie auction, especially for you Slog fiends. Place the winning bid and you will be granted Slogging privileges for seven days. All proceeds go to FareStart, of course. (Thanks for the idea, Big Sven.)

So long as it's not Timmy boy.

You'd get higher bids if we were bidding for the right to ban Mr. Poe for a week.

@ 1

Gee, what do you suppose their posts will be about?

Posted by Original Andrew | December 7, 2007 6:07 PM

OOOO slogging privileges. If only I could be so lucky! (ironic inflexion optional)

Posted by josh | December 7, 2007 6:21 PM

this will become a bidding war to prevent certain people from getting it

I'll stick to the dark snickets of commentsville, thanks!

P.S. If Mr. Poe were banned, I'd quit reading Slog. Seriously.

Posted by Irena | December 7, 2007 6:46 PM

Poe is awesome, every one of his posts would be NSFW though

Posted by vooodooo84 | December 7, 2007 7:10 PM

If issur or ecce get the auction, we can just boycott their posts, except for one "Chirp, chirp. Chirp." or similar comment from Mr. Poe or Will in Seattle or elenchos.

And FareStart will have their money in return for *nothing*.

I'd love to see Poe with this. He's the Dark Prince of the Slog.

God, this is so tempting!...

Posted by James | December 7, 2007 8:12 PM

Posted by Bellevue Ave | December 7, 2007 8:17 PM

Who the hell is mrt1212?

Posted by Katelyn | December 7, 2007 8:58 PM

thats the mystery gamble, frankly elenchos is the safe bet

Posted by vooodooo84 | December 7, 2007 9:29 PM

Omg. OMG!! Do we get to come in to the offices and annoy the living hell out of the staff?!

Posted by Mr. Poe | December 8, 2007 9:03 AM

Jesus. $250 and I'm still being slapped in the face by some dickheads max bid. Might want to wait until Friday at 4:30 or so for this one.

It must be mine!

I'm pulling for you, Poe. Keep peeling spinach.

Posted by Lloyd Clydesdale | December 8, 2007 9:34 AM

I use Ebay so little, I didn't realize that above a certain $$$ amount you can no longer see the user names in the bid history. I liked it better last night when you could see who was bidding what. Go Poe! Go elenchos!

Posted by Big Sven | December 8, 2007 10:41 AM

325! holy crap!

Posted by Bellevue Ave | December 8, 2007 11:13 AM

JESUS CHRIST! $400 and I'm still being outbid? Fuck. Fuck. FUUUUUUUUUUCCCCKKKKK!!!!!

Goddamn you, whoever you are, Mr. Moneybags McDouchbage Deluxe.

Posted by Mr. Poe | December 8, 2007 12:14 PM

Um, gee.

For a hundred, hundred and twenty, bucks, I could say sure, that might be fun. And it's for some bleeding heart good cause or other. Puppies, I think. Which is great; I love the poor puppies too, same as you.

But now you're talking enough money for at least two full days of skidding through corners at Pacific Raceways. Can slogging for a week really be more fun than that?

Posted by elenchos | December 8, 2007 12:55 PM

Yes. But only $400, and only when you're as offensive as I am.

I blame all spelling errors on blackberry.

Posted by Mr. Poe | December 8, 2007 1:04 PM

hey poe, where can I send an email to you?

Posted by Bellevue Ave | December 8, 2007 2:30 PM

I'll ask Amy Kate to send it to you.

Posted by Mr. Poe | December 8, 2007 3:35 PM

Just wanted to say, this whole spendup is not me. Though I desperately wanted to be the guest poster, never in my wildest dreams did I think it would crack $400. Good for FareStart, bad for me (and Poe. And elenchos. And...)
