onAlaska is making nice with the gays, and the Christian haters aren’t happy—and no, Alaska, those little bible verse cards aren’t going to save you now.

We won't stop until we destroy every "family" in America!
My recent Alaska Air flight from San Francisco to Seattle was delightful. Heck, I even enjoyed the pilot telling us what we were flying over. But I'm a dork like that.
I think the new Glory Holes on select flights to San Francisco could be a problem for the Christians.
Eventually, every angry asshole who loudly proclaims himself a "Christian" will need to accept that we live in a pluralistic society and that his irrational fear of gays is his problem, not everyone else's.
Who will protect our American birthright to join the Mile High Club from these religious extremists?
Next time I'm going to report that bible verse as hate speech.
Alaska Air has a page for emailing their customer care department (https://www.alaskaair.com/www2/ssl/help/ConsumerAffairsForm.asp?Company=Alaska); it couldn't hurt if a few people dropped them a line thanking them for their tolerance in the face of hate mongering. (And maybe promising to fly them in the future!)
Sweet Jeebus, now the whackjobs at WorldNutDaily have picked up the "story"

Poor Alaska, although I've always avoided them whenever possible; bible verses on the meal trays are not an acceptable substitute for decent maintenance of their planes.
Discrimination? Against right wing breeders?
Give me a f*cking break!
What about all the hetero privileges they enjoy and are denied to us?
How about spousal access privileges to Airline Lounges?
How about spousal access to employee flight privileges?
How about the freedom to mildly express affection to your partner in flight without being detained by the crew for creating a flight disturbance?
Don’t even get me started about how we’re treated once we land.
I love this post atlsea!
This MIGHT make shareholders uneasy for the press, but I don't think it will affect Alaska's bottom line one bit. Really, nothing say "we're not 100% this plane won't go down" more than some scripture on board, so kill that shit.
Wake me when they replace those tiny prayer cards with little tiny quotes from Tales of the City....
Great! I'll fly Alaska and enjoy a lower likelihood of fighting over an armrest with some fundy. And less righg-wingers mean less babies on flights. This is a win-win for me.
@8 - Actually I have enjoyed having spousal privileges in Alaska Airlines' "Board Room" lounge for years. Alaska Airlines is a great airline for EVERYONE, including "religious fundies," it is a shame that the AFA is harping on such a pety issue.
You are all missing the point... I'm a Christian and heterosexual... but if I was given a discount a GLBT couldn't get it would be discrimination and against the law. This has nothing to do with hate it has to do with what is fair... If Alaska wants to market to the GLBT market so be it but it should not be secret and it should not discriminate against other sexual orientations... Supposedly "Integrity" is one of the airlines values and the whole thing speaks volumes against it!
I've been gay all my life and still have no idea what the hell the gay agenda is.
Uh...Craig....
Why don't you just buy the GLBT discount on Alaska?? Problemo solved
Craig - you are given loads of tax breaks and federally subsidized 'discounts' that are not available to LBGT people through marriage. And it's all legal.
On the other hand, Alaska Airlines doesn't require you to be gay to get the discount. So there is no problem. The real issue here is that these fundamentalist idiots don't want any company marketing to LGBT people.
and on it goes....the so called christians will stop at nothing to distract this country from real issues....just keep voting republican and it will all be made right on Sunday while attending your church....
give me a break....although Alaska has some work to do by getting rid of those little prayer cards that they hand out and educating their own staff on diversity issues....they are at least doing something toward equal treatment. I give them the credit they deserve.
