Colbert Girl

posted by on October 23 at 15:41 PM

Once Stephen Colbert threw his hat in the ring last week, it was only a matter of time before America got served up a steaming hot slice of Colbert Girl.

Turns out the first—and so far only—video submitted is by Leeni, a Seattle-based singer, songwriter, filmmaker, performance artist, impressionist, and now political pundit. She wrote and recorded her “United States of Colbertica” immediately after Colbert made his announcement last week; the video went up on YouTube and Colbert’s website yesterday. It was partially made on a Nintendo Gameboy.

“I think he’s got a lot to offer the country,” Leeni says of her muse. “There’s not a lot of people I trust. I think he has trustiness as well as truthiness.”

Hi. You may have noticed I've been gone for awhile. Things haven't changed.

Umm, I actually kind of liked this one. There is an actual tune here, which has kinda gotten stuck in my head. But I'm not angry, hmmm.
Won't watch it more than once though.

Aw, don't be hatin' on Leeni - she's cute, and sparkly, and has way more musical talent than I do, that's for sure!

I'm going to have nightmares for weeks.

Um, that's sort of funny, but the chorus is eerily reminiscent of a song by another local group called the Billionaires Club... http://youtube.com/watch?v=M1Ib8YC3bi0

She erotically strokes a bear pelt. How can you not love it? And she's hot.

Holy digitally simulated cheap FM mod Batman. And if you are standing with your back to the shore, what sense does it make to point along the shore to illustrate "from shore to shore". Whore.

You all have no sense of humor or intelligence. This is awesome. And Leeni is hot.

Man. You people are jaded.
I think she did a great job! I dare any of you to do it better. Kudos to you, Leeni!!

Holy Poop.
I know that Leeni girl. I know I know, it's so annoying knowing so much trivia and then blabbing. Yeah, she opened for the Lust Lab comic woman when I got my Led Zep book signed at that cutesy shop near olive/denny. Yeah, pretty cool use of the nintendo, but pretty much a vapid performance. She's also part of some theater group, or was. Saw it at CHAC a year or so ago. There's just so much star power in this town! Someone really should film a more present day sequel to Idiocracy in Seattle, going straight to video isn't such a bad gig.
Oh yeah, Leeni is an anti-smoking preacher too. One day, I hope, I'll kick the filth, and then it's off this forsaken grid. Sooner the better.

It is just like feminism never happened. Excuse me, I need to go vomit now. At least she's hot right?

Seriously? You all are so critical of this, and I'm sure no one cares less than Leeni herself. People, this is a joke and you're treating it like it's an art show to be judged and picked apart. You're all suckers. Get a life.

And come on, "POTUS, that's just one step down from God". That's funny. Lighten up.

Steve, this is a terrible joke. I couldn't even laugh at her. I felt embarrassed just by watching it. It's terrible. Terrible.

Throwing 'like to see you do better' and anything in defense of her at least trying is nonsensical. Then you have no real place to criticize anything anybody ever does in relation to music and video. You're only defending this trash because you either know her, feel bad for her, or have a soft spot for stupid bitches.

y'all are insane. that was amazing. give me more. i'm going to go watch it again.

Well, Mr,Poe, I was going to argue with you until I checked out your Myspace profile. You have horrible taste in movies. It is a clear mix of horrible movies with a sprinkle of movies "people are supposed to think are cool." Way to wear the uniform. But I guess you are only 21, so what do you know about taste? We can debate good vs bad when you are not so wet behind the ears. See ya in ten or so years kiddo.

All of the movies I like are amazing. Because I like them.

If you watch this and think that talent is knockin' on the door, you are a moron. And you are wrong.

Everything I say, do, and like is absolute. Don't forget it.
