In an effort to make George W. Bush’s visit to Bellevue yesterday a costly one for Congressman Dave Reichert, the lefty netroots pledged to raise $100,000 for Darcy Burner by the end of the Bush’s fundraiser. They did better than that, pulling in $121,775 for Burner.
Dave Reichert gives me wicked boners.
In all fairness to Bruner, she has a cult like following - but is a weak candidate against the silver haired sheriff.

Just repeating yourself for another campaign will not work. Voters have her political patter memorized and don't buy it.

And in all fairness, the home town guy who has filed as well will beat her in the Dem. primary next year. They LOVE him in Bellevue.

what is too bad is that for all the talk of alternatives, and all the time to offer real leadership, this pathetic statement is the best burner can come up with about ending the occupation, after the 2006 election no less.

So, does anyone have reliable figures for how much Reichert actually pulled in last night? I've seen numbers ranging from $250K all the way up to $500K. Either way, Burner's numbers are all the more impressive given the fact that nobody had to pay $10,000 a plate for the privilege.
But regardless, it just goes to show - shrub isn't so much a money magnet for the GOP these days as he is a form of Campaign Antimatter.
My question is how much we taxpayers in Seattle and King County and the Port of Seattle had to shell out in extra security and transportation and barriers for them to do a $1 million CAMPAIGN FUNDRAISING STOP.
