(Back story: This week, Seattle Weekly replaced Knute Berger’s “Mossback” column with the New Times staple “Ask a Mexican!”, in which “The Mexican” answers your “spicy questions” (get it? see what they did there?) and asks readers to “Include a hilarious pseudonym, por favor, or we’ll make one up for you!”)
Big difference: El "güey" de Gustavo is funny and spot on. Goldy is just plain dull, eventhough we agree with him politically he has not handle on satire, the guy is just not funny.. Goldy should have read the back issues in the OC weekly before he came out hating or perhaps he is just being a biter. Maybe Erica should do a colum: Ask a feminist.
My mother's mexican housekeeper and her son who is our gardener in L.A. love the "Ask a Mexican" column. If Mexicans themselves approve of it, there is nothing wrong with publishing it.
"Ask a Jew" is anti-semitic. So many in Seattle are racist and anti-semitic. It hurts my heart that some would forget the Holocaust and attempt to make humor out of the group that has suffered the most.
