Politico has a nice roundup of the incredibly cautious, mediocre endorsements Mitt Romney has been receiving lately. They're really something. Here's Romney "fan" Rudy Giuliani:
This reminds me of, you know, going to a surgeon, right?” Giuliani said on “Fox & Friends.” “If I’ve got a terrible cancer or something to be operated on, when I had to be operated on for prostate cancer, I didn’t go to the nicest doctor, I went to the best doctor. The guy could have a great personality and tell jokes [and he] put the knife in the wrong way. On the other hand, if he’s a great doctor, that’s my guy. Now, Mitt Romney, this is overdone. Mitt Romney’s a nice guy, a good guy and he’s just as personable. I know both of them. I know Mitt better, but I know the president. Both are very nice men. President [Barack] Obama is not nicer than Mitt Romney or vice versa.”
And here's Romney "supporter" Mitch Daniels:
“You have to campaign to govern, not just to win,” Daniels said in the interview. “Spend the precious time and dollars explaining what’s at stake and a constructive program to make life better. And as I say, look at everything through the lens of folks who have yet to achieve.” The columnist he spoke with wrote: “After a pause, Daniels added with disappointment: ‘Romney doesn’t talk that way.’”
The parade of backhanded compliments just keep coming! So the only question is...
What Will Be the Next Mitt Romney Non-Endorsement?
