Health The House Health Care Debate

It's happening now, and when it's finished—probably later today—it's likely that the U.S. House of Representatives will have made history, passing* a huge health insurance reform bill that includes a public option.

Is this the bill with the opt-out option? Because if it is, it will be a clusterfuck of epic proportions that will segregrate America even further.

don't worry about the opt-out. States can opt-out of all kinds of things and not get federal funding (see highways). They never do.
Worry more about the Stupak (no funding for abortion) amendment. And worry that the public option will just get the sick people.
The public option will be accessible to a huge number of people down the road as employers slough off their health care, employ more people part time, and more people are self-employed. Either that way and/or by legislative changes, we'll have some kind of public health care for all, and private health care for the well-off.
Not sure how well that will work out, but it's better by 10000% than what we have now.

Eli, what the fuck is your reason for being such a PROPAGANDIST for the Democrats? This vote isn't historic at all. Medicare was historic. This is a fucking give-away to the insurance industry. Do you actually read any of the shit you write about or do you just regurgitate (thanks, Colbert) the PR the Dems send you? Grow a fucking pair of balls and learn how to read on your own.
