In last week's Stranger I wrote about Michelle McCully, the University of Washington grad student who took the law into her own hands to get her stolen road bike back, stalking her missing property on Craigslist, jawboning authorities in two states into action, and even setting up a Wal-Mart parking-lot sting operation.

f2da/1241045417-cityfollow1-570.jpgTonight Michelle will be on the radio show Too Beautiful to Live, talking about "her one-woman bike detective agency."

That's 8 p.m. on 97.3 KIRO FM if you want to hear Michelle's tips on thwarting bike thieves—who, I'm told, tend to be more active during the spring and summer months.

Man, when did people start having to hand cases to a detective on a silver platter? I saw my stolen bike (stolen in a burglary, no less) on Craigslist in Capitol Hill, figured out who was selling it and now the detective in Tacoma won't even return a phone call. Well, if anyone bought that blue Panasonic DX4000 with the white handlebars, I'll buy it back from you!

shit i got 200 cds back after my apartment got jacked back in the grunge era. fucking bremerton dirtball named Cody sold A-F to Cellophane Square. used his driver's license. it's fun to hand the cops a thief on a silver platter. you feel like Columbo.

I like this idea of TBTL picking up stories from The Stranger. Is this a new media model? Can you two get completely in bed together? Can Stranger podcasts create bookends for TBTL and gradually take over what ever that station is?
