Seattle Symphony Orchestra Won Its First Grammy Yesterday, After 18 Previous Nominations: They won it for John Luther Adams’s "atmospheric and revolutionary piece" Become Ocean, recorded at Benaroya Hall. Become Ocean was commissioned by the Seattle Symphony, had its world premiere in Seattle on June 20, 2013, and won Adams a 2014 Pulitzer Prize in music. A good way to congratulate our 111-year-old symphony and its brilliant conductor, Ludovic Morlot, would be to go see something there soon.

You Can Listen to Become Ocean Conducted by Ludovic Morlot Right Now if You Want: Yeah, you want to do this, crawl under your desk and put on your earphones and just space out for the next 45 minutes. Here's Become Ocean.

Did You Become the Ocean? Speaking of the Grammys, what a dumb and weird awards show that was.
