Last week, I wrote about Brett Love, Seattle's most dedicated audience member, who sees hundreds of theater and dance performances every year. In 2014, he sat through around 270 productions, or about 5.2 shows per week. The Stranger's calendar listed 629 events in the "theater" and "dance" categories this year. So, by our reckoning, he saw almost 40 percent of everything that happened that we knew about. (Not including stand-up comedy, most burlesque, special events like fundraisers, and so on—that number was 781, 34.6 percent of which Brett would seen in 2014.)

Love may be one of the few human beings in Seattle whose year-in-theater knowledge is actually comprehensive enough to justify a top ten list—and he's posted his, along with notes about the year's highlights.

Because he's a nice guy, he doesn't go in for lowlights. When I asked him about particularly painful moments in theater this year, all he could come up with is False Peach at On the Boards back in 2013.

Brett is a man who loves.
