Ask Her to Make You A: Blood & Sand (or anything but beer). “A lot of people order beer here so I get excited when people order a little bit more complex drinks. We got good scotch in recently, so I learned how to make a Blood & Sand, which is a little bit of orange juice, scotch or bourbon, cherry liqueur, and dry vermouth. You can put some bitters in there if you want to. It’s tasty and scotch warms up your tummy this time of year.”

What She’s Doing When She’s Not at the Bar: “I teach people how to Hula-Hoop dance up on Capitol Hill, so that’s fun. We have a hoop here (at the bar) so when people get uninhibited, they have something to do. They can work it out. I’m also a silversmith.”
