I'm not sure why, but around this time of the year I always revisit the Chicago hardcore group Articles Of Faith.

I'm not sure how they're remembered now, but during the early '80s, Articles Of Faith were sorta famous for having a three-guitar lineup and, of course, their politics. I'm sure it's arguable, and there have been a few notable groups in the last 30 years, but this was the group which effectively ended hardcore's relevance. I never saw AOF play live; in 1985 I was living in North Carolina and they never toured south of Richmond, Virginia.
