Tho' I'm a deep record nerd, I don't have a SINGLE favorite band or performer. I kinda love ALL my records the same. However, if I COULD choose a fave, I might perhaps choose the mid-'90s Japanese punk band Teengenerate. I regard them as the band that finally completed the circle of rock and roll, so all other rock bands that have followed, while they may be rockin', will always be redundant.

As important as they are, Teengenerate were only active for a very short time, 1993–96 or so, but they still recorded a TON: 12 singles/EPs and one proper album! Luckily, I was at their two final Seattle shows in late 1995; one was at the Crocodile and the other the Lake Union Pub (where it was raining INSIDE, and during Teengenerate's set, courtesy of a major roof leak).
