  • A diesel spill closed four lanes of traffic on I-5 near Northgate this morning.

A Semi Jackknifed on I-5 and Spilled Fuel Everywhere: "The mess began with a semi-truck that jackknifed about 4:30 a.m., spilling diesel fuel on the freeway. As vehicles drove through spilled fuel, some of them lost traction, which caused more wrecks south of the original crash." Then "another semi-truck tried to get past the wreck and crashed into a concrete barrier, adding to the confusion." WSDOT has been spreading sand on the freeway to clean it up.

Two Teens Stuck a Gun in a Man's Face Outside the Sand Point Grill Over the Weekend: The man, a Sand Point Grill employee, "didn't have any money to give, so the teens took his take-out food. Afterward, the man managed to grab their gun, and the teens took off running." The gun turned out to be a "very realistic pellet gun."

Carrie Brownstein tweeted this morning: "Woke up to the news that my band Sleater-Kinney is getting back together and that we have a new record coming out in 2015." Sub Pop announced the news with the headline: "It's Official: Sub Pop Can Keep a Secret." The record label calls it the band's "first album in ten years(!) and most explosive collection of songs to date(!!)" Tour dates here. As for Carrie Brownstein, this doesn't mean the end of Portlandia. There will be more Portlandia.

The Stranger Genius Awards on Saturday Night Were Packed: So you were probably there and you probably already know who won. But in case you were too drunk to remember: The winners were comics editor Gary Groth, animator Drew Christie, the band Industrial Revelation, performance artist C. Davida Ingram, and theater director Valerie Curtis-Newton. Also, Jinkx Monsoon performed a Janis Joplin number with the Seattle Rock Orchestra.
