Sorry for the less-than-dazzling image, but literally all other options brought up by the search term bisexuality involved either rainbow-striped objects or two female models relating to each other sensually.

That's right—today is Bi Visibility Day, also known as Bisexual Pride Day, also known as September 23. Launched in 1999 by bisexual-rights activists Wendy Curry, Michael Page, and Gigi Raven Wilbur, the day is a call for bisexuals and those who love them to celebrate bisexuality, bisexual culture, and all the bisexual people in our lives.

So let's get to it! Thank you and Happy Bi Visibility Day to righteous comic performers Sandra Bernhard and Margaret Cho, Oscar-winning actors Anna Paquin and Angelina Jolie, culture-defining music mogul Clive Davis, beloved TV actors Mary Lynn Rajskub and Cynthia Nixon, writer/director/genius Mike White, popular musicians Michael Stipe, Lady Gaga, Grace Jones, and Billie Joe Armstrong, and all the other bis who light up our lives. (Also, while I'm here, I must also give a shout-out to the most beguiling bi character on TV: The Good Wife's Kalinda Sharma.)

In addition to Bi Visibility Day, today is also Ani DiFranco's birthday, so let us go out with a classic song about bisexuality (lyrics here) from this proudly bi performer.

UPDATE/GOLD-STAR COMMENT OF THE DAY: "Really surprised this op-ed from a regular columnist in the NYT was ignored here," writes Slog commenter bareboards. [H]ere's another bisexual for you, in all its fluidity."
