Rose Windows' Keyboardist David Davila Has Left the Band

Posted by on Tue, Sep 2, 2014 at 12:03 PM

Although there’s been no media coverage of this, Rose Windows’ keyboardist David Davila departed from the Sub Pop-signed Seattle psych-folk group about four months ago (on good terms), according to drummer Pat Schowe, whom I spoke to after Rose Windows’ outstanding set at Bumbershoot Monday.

Davila’s florid, Ray Manzarek-esque coloration will be missed from Rose Windows’ sound. Schowe says that the band’s had to cut songs like “Spirit Modules” and “II Coda” from their live sets due to Davila’s absence. The keyboardist left because he simply wanted to explore other musical avenues. Toward that end, Schowe says that he and Davila have been jamming frequently lately. Let's hope something emerges soon from those sessions. In the meantime, check out Rose Windows' 2014 single, "There Is a Light."
