As Dom mentioned in yesterday's Morning News, the International Franchise Association has filed an immediate federal injunction against the part of Seattle's $15 minimum wage law that classifies franchise stores as large businesses. The lawsuit is concerning, sure, but it's also pretty hilarious. They cite a lot of familiar things in their court filings—enough that their motion is actually fun to read. It's like watching the whole process all over again, but from the corporate villain's side! You can find a PDF of the whole thing right here.

Among other things, they cite: Kshama Sawant's tweets, a Seattle Times editorial, and an angry rant from Dave Meinert's Facebook page, all as part of their evidence that the city's minimum wage ordinance discriminates against poor little franchises like Subway and McDonald's.

You can read all the exhibits, too. (Meinert's full FB rant is Exhibit 5. Funniest part? This bit at the end: "Comments omitted.")

And oh yeah, The Stranger gets a mention in there, too—but only because Nick Hanauer, a minimum-wage committee member, mentions his Stranger editorial in an e-mail. Still: Wheeee!
