I was out this evening at a press screening of the new Brett Ratner Hercules movie—you'll have to wait until tomorrow morning to read my review; place your bets now on whether I liked it or not—and so I missed the very welcome news that Emerald Queen Casino canceled two upcoming appearances by Ted Nugent:

Emerald Queen Casino will cancel two Ted Nugent concerts that were scheduled August 2 and 3 over allegations* of racist remarks by the singer.

Puyallup Tribe officials said the decision came after learning that Nugent has said racist remarks.

"The first amendment gives people the right free speech, but I think racism is intolerable and not acceptable here," said Puyallup Tribal Council Vice President Lawrence W. LaPointe. "We’ve been getting lots of complaints from the community and other organizations."

This is great news. I reported earlier this week that an Idaho casino canceled a Nugent concert after people complained about Nugent's long history of racism. It's wonderful to see the Emerald Queen follow suit. Maybe this racist piece of shit will think twice before spreading his ignorance around in public, now that he sees how it can hurt his bottom line.

(Thanks to Slog tippers originalcinner, Aaron, and @TheCrappyTotals for passing this news along.)

* Uh, "allegations?"
