Today is Flag Day.

Here's a post I made about it on one of my "own personal blogs". The text I copied from a letter my landlord sent (they are very "community" oriented) which inspired me to go to hang my own flag on the balcony.

The video was assembled from clips I shot at Safeco by Google. They also selected and added the music. Somehow it figured out what clips fit the theme and it got it exactly right.

Yes, it's a video made by robots, and it's good.

Regarding the franchisees lawsuit, here's an idea for the exemptions that should go to small businesses and franchises: move to a profit sharing model.
And the employees should be organizing, even if the job is just something to pay the bills until their real career takes off.

@2, a franchisee is an owner. They're not employees, and they're responsible for their own profits (or lack thereof). It takes quite a bit of money to buy a McDonald's or Subway franchise. They're not college kids or other low-wage workers; they are actually employers.
