The Seattle FBI office has a new boss: Frank Montoya, Jr., a counterintelligence expert who's worked in D.C., Puerto Rico, Honolulu, and on the Oklahoma City bombing.

Laura M. Laughlin, former special agent in charge of the Seattle office, abruptly resigned in February after a few controversies including (a) her decision to scale back an investigation surrounding the 2001 murder of federal prosecutor Thomas Wales and (b) her filing a discrimination lawsuit against the FBI over promotions that, her attorneys say, went to men with equal or inferior abilities or to women who had not complained about gender bias in the agency.

Welcome, special agent Montoya! I look forward to a happy future of your PIOs deflecting questions and running interference between me and you. (I kid, I kid. Kinda.)
