A few minutes ago, a long freight truck hit this box truck—which was parked on East Pike Street—pushing the box truck several feet onto the curb:

In the process, the sheer force of the box truck snapped a bike rack off its base and crushed this sweet bicycle underneath it:

The bike's owner, who worked in a nearby restaurant, was unharmed—but he was bemused and bummed. "I just got it fixed yesterday," he said. The drivers were nowhere to be found and no police were tending to the scene. Everyone seems unharmed, so I figured I'd post this tableau to please Seattle's contingent of anti-bike "neighborhood activists" and NIMBYs.
