If you want to get a sneak preview of the second Wheedle's Groove compilation on Light in the Attic, visit Pitchfork right now for a free stream. Compiled by top Seattle selector DJ Supreme La Rock, this second volume of Seattle funk, soul, and boogie is a much slicker affair than the first Wheedle's Groove collection, leaning heavier on the boogie end of the dance-music spectrum. If you're not a fan of that aesthetic, you may have trouble jamming this album front to back.

Still, the 18 tracks are all high-quality specimens of their genres, and feature some of the same artists who appeared on the inaugural edition, including Robbie Hill's Family Affair and Cold, Bold & Together. Former Seattle Mariner Lenny Randle also contributes a track, "Kingdome," which wasn't a hit, believe it or not—even though it's totally based and baller. Ex-Stranger music editor Jonathan Zwickel wrote the excellent liner notes.
