Is Yet Another Round of Mass Murder in Progress?

Posted by on Tue, May 13, 2014 at 10:07 AM

WaPo is reporting that Baltimore County Police fear the driver of a vehicle that has just rammed into the building for a local TV station may be armed and inside the building. The police are warning citizens to clear and stay away from this area.

I really, really hope it's not what we already know it will become.

"...what we already know it will become."

No, we don't know anything of the sort. In fact, you know nothing, so be responsible and STFU.

This post pretty much shows what Chuck wishes it will become.

Per Bernstein 5
So the Stranger vilifies the police for jumping to conclusions about the perceived violent intentions of the mentally ill but it's OK for their writers to do it? It's my understanding that this guy hasn't harmed anyone yet and has referred to himself as "God." What to do, what to do...

If anyone actually gives a shit about the facts (obviously Mudede does not), the man rammed his truck into the offices of WMAR, a Baltimore ABC affiliate in Towson, MD. and was screaming things like "let me in" and claiming he was god.

The building has been partially evacuated, but there is no suspect in custody at this time, and no evidence he was even armed. No reports of shots fired or any injured parties. All WMAR employees are accounted for, though some are still in the building. The police have the buliding barricaded and cordoned off.

I thought this was just a way of life now. People shooting people is so commonplace, I just thought we'd become apathetic, unless we're selling guns that is. These are great for business.

Sorry to disappoint you, Charles, but everybody is safe and the suspect is in custody. Not that you are going to bother to follow up; that would require a minimal amount of journalism.…

Police would not name the man, whom they said they found armed with a golf club and watching coverage of the incident from inside the station. They said they believe he is mentally ill.…
No one, including the suspect, was injured.

Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz says the suspect is mentally ill and has been taken for treatment.

“It’s very clear the subject is suffering from emotional or mental health issues,” Police Chief James Johnson said.

So, too often we're reminded we need a national registry for golf clubs and people with mental health issues must be locked away from others or heavily medicated as wards of the state so they can't do any harm.
