Legendary NSFW Jäger Dong on Capitol Hill

Posted by on Fri, Apr 11, 2014 at 10:38 AM

Last week, I posted about a new advertisement outside the liquor store on 12th and Pine—an ad that encourages people to get so hammered on Jägermeister that they think they have an immortal legacy. Like I said, the ads play into the worst fears of many locals who have watched the neighborhood become a magnet for racist, homophobic, violent bigots who drink themselves into a stupor—maybe doing shots of Jägermeister—and then attack people of color, gay people, and drag queens. A cook at Linda's Tavern has been putting up fake Jägermeister ads mocking the campaign and the gentrification of the neighborhood.

Now someone else has, um, enhanced the original. I don't want to post the image above the jump, because images of booze just are not part of a healthy working environment. Oh also, there's a big uncut dong on the mural now:

Thanks to Slog tipper Kate for the photo.

I prefer shots of Fireball before I go gay bashing. I guess I wasn't surveyed. Oh, wait. There was no survey. Holden pulled this 'fact' from the same ass where all his 'journalism' originates.

I've been wondering how to alter that ad while right across the street from the po-po. Whoever it was, you have my gratitude and respect!

Can somebody please explain the connection between jaegermeister and racist homophobic violent bigots?

Is there a real valid connection?

Or is it just a silly stereotype? Like people who drink Busch beer live in trailers and fuck their sisters?

I suppose it's a good thing, in this country at least, that the default wang is now uncut.

There is no connection. Holden often confuses libel with journalism.

What's funny is that in the rest of the world, Jagermeister is a perfectly respectable after-dinner drink.

This guy tricked everyone in the States into thinking it was a party drink.

He also invented "Grey Goose," and dumb people have been thinking it was superior vodka ever since.

Spent most of my teenage youth hanging around Capital Hill(thats what we called it and still do) and the Ave., this was when Pagliacci served square slices. Unfortunately, there have always been tensions up there.

If I still lived on CAPITOL Hill I would have already replaced Legends with Felons by now.

Nice, @11. Tip-top reworking of "Swan/Saskatchewan."

Sigh. Dom, no reasonable person denies that there are gay-bashers who have and will unfortunately continue to do harm on The Hill. *Ducks, dodges objects thrown his way* Nor will anyone deny that the ad is stupid and that it appeals to the basest, stupidest drunkards. I mean, it's almost self-parody. I think it's so on the nose that even a douchebro might understand. But not all douchebros are gay-bashers -- not even close. Douchebros are douches; they're loud, drunk, immature, and yes, do harass people -- especially women. No one deserves that. But there are lot of non-douchebros who, on the right (wrong) night are just as bad or worse. There are lot of young (and old), hard-partying revelers who enjoy the city. Whether they live here or in the 'burbs, it's a fun place to be -- and spend MONEY. That's why we put up with it. Frankly, I don't care if the offending drunk who's pissing in the street or screaming obscenities into the wee-hours is from Capitol Hill or Bellevue. They're still a nuisance. I think you're drawing way too much of a causal straight line between stupid ads like this and no-nothing drunks and bigots. This ad doesn't attract obnoxious drunks or bigots to Capitol Hill or anywhere else in Seattle. The city's vibrancy, bars, and booze do a fine job on their own.

That said, a big uncut dong on the ad is hilarious, and well-played pranksters.

Why hasn't any of the reporting of this mention that it's on a liquor store wall? It's not like this is in the middle of Cal Anderson, but it's an ad for booze on a store that sells booze.
