Q13 Fox:

Police SWAT teams are en route to the University of Washington to negotiate with a 40-year-old man who allegedly pepper-sprayed a UW police officer and barricaded himself inside a building.

According to Seattle Police Detective Renee Witt, officers were on the scene at the intersection of 7th Avenue NE and NE Northlake Place after a university police officer was pepper sprayed by a man on campus.

Police were trying to negotiate with the man, who barricaded himself inside a building.

Seattle police say to expect road closures in the area between 6th and 8th Streets and Northlake Place.

Hopefully this can be resolved without violence.

UPDATE 3:24 P.M.: "Seattle PD just used a noise making device to try and get a barricaded man out of U Dist trailer," says the Seattle Times' Jennifer Sullivan.

A UW police commander tells Imana Gunawan, a reporter for UW's The Daily newspaper, that a "man hit Seattle City Light prop, maced UWPD officer, now barricaded himself in trailer, doesn't appear armed."
