ALL RISE Rising: On the city block along Denny between Minor and Yale, where the Greyhound Bus station used to stand, Seattle City Light is prepping to build an electrical substation. For the next 14 months, the open lot will host a series of visual and performance events called ALL RISE, dealing with the past, present, and future of the Cascade neighborhood. The first is a scattering of 11 signs by Seattle poet Arne Pihl, including the words "THIS IS NOT A GENTLE POEM" mounted on 12-foot blocks that reference glacial change and social struggle. All events are free and will be announced shortly before they happen. Follow ALL RISE on Facebook and Twitter (#allriseseattle), or email. Web cameras are here and here.
