Tonight in Music: The Spacy, Electro-Assisted Improv of Monster Planet

Posted by on Mon, Mar 17, 2014 at 2:45 PM

(Re-Bar) Monster Planet bills itself as "an ever-expanding collective of producers, musicians, sound designers and B-movie enthusiasts," and tonight they will be improvising over trippy video provided by renowned Scarecrow staffer Leo Mayberry. Previous visual themes have included the nicely open-ended sounding "Snakes" and "Worst First Date," all of which is just a long-winded way to say this show may be enhanced by a few pre-func bong rips. The rest of the bill flirts admirably with a wide gamut of contemporary electronic sounds, from Infradead's modular trippiness to Dane Garfield Wilson's Brainfeeder-esque triphop.
