That Escalated Quickly: Russia TV Anchor Reminds Viewers That Russia Can Destroy the USA

Posted by on Mon, Mar 17, 2014 at 7:52 AM

TPM:

An influential Russian news anchor reminded any viewers not already convinced of the nation's nuclear might that Russia is “the only country in the world capable of turning the U.S.A. into radioactive dust." Dmitry K. Kiselyov, an anchor hand-picked by Russian President Vladimir Putin to head Russia Today who is notorious for delivering on-air rants against foreign leaders and gays, made the comments on the Sunday evening news as the U.S. condemned the Russia-backed referendum in Crimea, according to the New York Times.... Kiselyov also claimed that President Barack Obama's hair had turned gray from fretting about Russia's nuclear power, according to the Times.

This is the same guy who said that the hearts of gay people who die in car accidents should be cut out and burned, not transplanted into people waiting for a donor. He was handpicked by Putin to head up "the entire state-controlled Russian news conglomerate."

Yeah, the U.S. doesn't have any loonies like that! Oh, unless you call Rush's rants and his millions of ditto heads "influential."

I still think it's rather hypocritical of the U.S. to sanction Russia for an election held in Crimea, when the U.S. had a bunch of "elections" in Iraq during its occupation.

There are a couple nations that could destroy the world with the nuclear weapons capability.. The US, China, Russia, France, and the UK. In many ways, France and UK have stronger nuclear deterrents than Russia, with the UK having it in hard to detect Trident 5 missile subs.

Russians have long memories, and I assume Russian leaders remember petty spites from way back. The Kennedy Administration stated to the Soviets Government that it was ready to turn USSR into a radioactive waste site in the 20 minutes, or something in that order..

Russia isn't the Soviet Union, and as much as they are bragging about their power and using it, they are in a much weaker position than the Soviet Union, and their military is kind of a mess...

I love it when a bunch of old guys get together and talk about how tough they are!

Look at us, we're soooo strong. We're big enough to destroy everything! We made their hair turn grey!

I miss the Russians. I was getting tired of making jokes about Best Korea. I wonder if they're jealous of the missing airplane.

Ah... the cold war nostalgia of my youth. The constant threat of mutual nuclear annihilation. Fallout shelters. Quick, children, if you see a bright flash, hide under your desks!

I... don't really miss it at all.

Kiselyov also referred to the Iwo Jima memorial as a "tribute to gay sex." The homophobes, they just can't get us out of their minds! Every time they turn around, there we are!

@4 - By opposition to being nominated by the same people who own most of congress? Big difference, I guess.

So Foxnews has penetrated the Russian media too. No wonder Foxtards have been praising Putin since the invasion of the Crimea. Also, Ron Paul has come out in praise of Putin and right of the Crimean Russians to annex to Russia.
