In the real world, astronomers recently observed a slow-moving asteroid (it moved at the pace of an elderly pedestrian—1.5 kilometers per hour) disintegrate for no understandable reason. The rock just fell apart. Rocks are not supposed to fall apart at such a slow speed. The astronomers rate this as one of the strangest things they have seen in space.
